The Automotive ServicesSupervisor position will be responsible for the supervision of the motorvehicle maintenance facilities located in Queen Annes County Charles Countyand Calvert County Maryland. It will be at the discretion of the Automotive ServicesSupervisor to select which location their office will be located.

The mission ofthe Department is to fulfill its role as the States lead coordinating lawenforcement. organization. This position provides for the supervision of 3)garages a prime responsibility of overseeing maintenance and repair of vehiclesin support of the Departments mission. This position ensures reports andmaintenance records are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
First Line Supervisor Region VI. Ensure thatDivision policies and procedures are followed by region personnel regardingequipment inventory supplies etc. Supervise acquisition of all outsidepurchases to make sure that Division policy is adhered to. Oversee schedulingfor maintenance and repairs of MSP vehicles at each regional garage. Maintainsupplies and equipment as necessary in order to keep garages at properinventory level so they can operate efficiently and effectively. Resolve anyproblems that may arise at regional garages regarding facilities equipmentvehicles and personnel. Coordinate accident data to include estimates andrepairs. Provide follow up to ensure damage to a vehicle is repaired in atimely fashion. Review daily operation to ensure invoices deliveries andreturns are accounted for.
Maintain a filing system in accordance with MVD policies toensure proper recording and follow up on all regional garage paperwork. ConductDecentralized Line Inspections monthly and conduct BiWeekly inventories ofstock items.
Assist personnel in understanding and implementing Divisionpolicies and procedures. Participate in Division and Barrack staff meetings andadvise subordinates that information needed to maintain efficiency inoperational and procedural changes. Coordinate operational activities betweenregion and administrative personnel.
Review Form 163 (Repair Order Log) check for accuracy and givefinal approval to repair orders submitted by Automotive Service that vendor invoices are completed with full and correct information andforwarded for processing at close of each business day.
Carry out any other duties assigned by Motor Vehicle Division.
Education:Completion of the eighth grade.
Experience:Four years of experience servicing maintaining and repairing of motor vehiclesor motor equipment two years of which must have involved responsibility forperforming major automotive repair work.
Notes:
1. Graduationfrom an accredited vocational/technical high school with a major in automotivemechanics or a related field may be substituted for up to three years of therequired experience.
may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience asa noncommissioned officer in Mechanic classifications or AutomotiveMaintenance Technician andVehicle Maintenance specialty codes in theMechanic orMaintenance field of work on a yearforyear basis for therequired experience.

In accordance withSection 2204 (b) 6 of the Public Safety Article candidates will be subjectto an initial drug screening a physical examination and a complete criminalbackground investigation to include a polygraph examination before permanentappointment can be made. A criminal conviction may be grounds forrejection of the candidate.
