Job Description:
Job position will require student to be cross trained between multiple BSB Core Facilities. The student will assist BSB Core Facility Directors in overseeing daily lab upkeep: cleaning organizing putting away glassware refilling chemical bottles and other supplies maintaining shared lab spaces such as the cell culture rooms and retrieving packages and materials from BSB stockroom. Student will also assist in the training of undergraduate and graduate students on the use of various research instruments and machines used within the core facilities and ensuring the proper use of the instruments and machines. These duties require the ability to comply with University policies as well as laboratory safety and quality policies and procedures maintain a regular and punctual schedule and manage confidential information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed as well as attention to details and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Perform facility duties and responsibilities for assigned area of responsibility
- Assist with maintenance and cleaning as needed
- Participate with various projects activities and tasks related to facility services
- Adhere to and ensure safety procedures and precautions are followed
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
