Position: Home Care Aide
Location: Redlands CA
Salary: Starting at $16 per hour (DOE)
Status: Parttime
Job Summary
Home Care Aide provides various personal care and related paraprofessional services in accordance with an established plan of care. Provides for the personal needs and comfort of individuals in their homes.
Duties
Adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
Performs work under the supervision of the Owners or Care Coordinators.
Performs personal care activities contained in the care plan which includes but is not limited to assisting the individual with activities of daily living such as:
- Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using bedpan or commode bathing grooming)
- Ambulation
- Eating
- Dressing
- Medication reminders
- Meal preparation
The Home Care Aide will NOT perform any of the following:
- Sterile dressing change.
- Irrigation of body cavities such as enemas colostomy or wounds.
- Gastric lavage or gavage.
- Catheterization.
- Injections or IV treatments.
- Nasogastric or gastrostomy tube feedings or care.
- Tracheostomy tube care.
- Suctioning of the nose mouth or tracheostomy.
- Nail care on individuals with diabetes or compromised circulation.
- Any personal health service that has not been included in the care plan.
The Home Care Aide performs light housekeeping tasks which will facilitate the individuals selfcare at home.
These tasks include but are not limited to:
- Vacuuming
- Dusting
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Cleaning the kitchen and doing dishes
- Laundry and making beds
- Cleaning bathrooms
The Home Care Aide will NOT:
- Perform heavyduty household cleaning such as washing walls waxing floors washing windows etc.
- Perform household repairs or maintenance
- Perform yard care or maintenance
The Home Care Aide may be responsible for documentation of the service provided using the Client Care Record.
Working Conditions/Environment
Primarily works a certain number of hours or shifts in the individuals place of residence travel required. Shift times and days vary with the individuals needs.
The Agency cannot guarantee a certain number of visits or hours of employment in any given week. We cannot guarantee work close to your home or on a convenient public transit system.
Education Experience Knowledge Skills Abilities and Availability
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- 1 years experience as a Home Care Aide in health care (in homes or facilities) or equivalent.
- Current CPR Certificate is preferred.
- Read write speak and understand English.
- Have a valid drivers license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation.
