Job Description
About the Role:
Our client is hiring a Server Software Developer / Engineer to join their growing development team in Co. Tipperary. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cuttingedge backend systems where youll contribute to the design implementation and support of scalable and efficient software features. Youll collaborate with crossfunctional teams to build highperformance backend services that power great user experiences.
Co. Tipperary 4 days per week onsite)
Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement new backend features and improvements.

Resolve bugs and refactor code for performance and maintainability.

Translate business and product requirements into functional and scalable backend systems.

Collaborate with frontend teams (Web/Android) to optimise performance and responsiveness.
-
Support test strategy development and help drive quality across the software stack.
-
Take ownership of new features from development through deployment and production support.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
-
A degree or diploma in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
-
Proven experience in backend Java development roles.
-
Strong proficiency with relational databases.
-
Solid understanding of RESTful API design.
-
Experience working with Microservices architectures using Spring Boot and Kubernetes.
-
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Google Cloud).

Good knowledge of version control systems such as Git/Github.
-
Exposure to DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
-
Ability to write developerlevel tests.
-
Excellent problemsolving skills and debugging capabilities.
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable:
-
Experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
-
Experience working in Agile Scrum teams.

Familiarity with distributed computing systems.
-
Exposure to web development environments.
-
Prior experience working with international or remote teams.

Experience supporting highly available systems at scale.
