Job Description
The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Director of Player Development Mens Basketball. This is a fulltime (atwill and FLSAexempt) position which includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 250 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Director of Player Development is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Head Coach in all aspects of the recruiting process including creating effective communication methods through social print and video media as well as assisting all mens basketball players (with an emphasis on first and secondyear students in making a smooth transition into college life socially academically and athletically.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of one 1 One year of administrative coaching or playing experience at the NCAA Division I level to include talent assessment and/or skill development;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated through effective and creative presentation/training delivery; public speaking engagements; development of creative promotional or educational communications; and delivery of complex and sensitive information;
- Working knowledge of and ability to: Utilize basic office support software (similar to Microsoft Office 365
- Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment.
- A valid drivers license and ability to meet and maintain UI driving program standards;
Desired Qualifications:
- One to three years of work or professional playing experience with a mens basketball program and basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism and intensity necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program;
- Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of studentathletes recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall wellbeing.
