Job Description
Job Title: Structural Professional Engineer (PE)
About Us: Our organizationis a dynamic and growing structural engineering firm based in Jacksonville Beach. We specialize in designing lowrise commercial and residential buildings. Our portfolio includes retail spaces religious structures restaurants commercial additions multifamily apartments highend custom homes oceanfront residences and structural assessments. We work with a variety of materials including wood framing masonry concrete and steel.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team. This role involves leading projects as the Engineer of Record collaborating with a talented team of EITs and drafters and ensuring the structural integrity and design excellence of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Engineer of Record for various projects.
- Collaborate with EITs and drafters to produce structural construction documents.
- Perform structural calculations for building structures using wood steel masonry and concrete.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings and sketches.
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls.
- Conduct onsite structural inspections.
- Direct and work with drafters to develop comprehensive construction documents.
- Manage field calls and provide sketches for ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering from an ABETaccredited university.
- Completed coursework in structural analysis strength of materials reinforced concrete design and steel design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of building structures.
- Passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.
- Hold a PE license with the ability to obtain a Florida PE License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completed college courses in wood masonry and coldformed steel design.
- Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Revit.
