Job Position: Energy Preconstruction Manager
Knobelsdorff is looking to add to our growing Solar Energy Team. Are you someone who is looking to be part of a progressive team environment that focuses on an exceptional customer experience If so we would love to talk to you.
This person will be required to work out of our Goodhue MN location.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams and external partners to successfully lead the transition through the estimating/preconstruction phase through the construction of the project.
- This role requires a combination of technical expertise project management skills and a thorough understanding of the solar energy industry.
- Ability to work on multiple projects across various design development and procurement phases.
Responsibilities:
- This position will work crossfunctionally with Business Development Engineering Estimating Procurement Operations and Legal to support deal progression from opportunity to construction.
- Facilitate internal and external resources to execute earlystage design activities including conceptual designs layouts PV optimization production analyses valueengineering analyses economic optimization activities and interconnection coordination
- Ensure turnover of a project from PreConstruction to Construction is done properly with an appropriate handoff meeting and support as required thereafter to ensure no gaps.
- Align EPC Agreement scope and schedule with interconnection permitting and other development needs
- Coordinate constructability and technical review of projects with engineering interconnection and development teams.
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors vendors and engineering during all phases of the project.
- Manage construction phase project teams through preconstruction activities. This includes collaborating and coordination with engineers and contractors to facilitate seamless communication throughout the preconstruction phase.
- Collaborate with construction teams in resolving design and or constructability challenges during construction.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Operations to manage bid packages manage longlead planning materials and contractor RFPs award and contract.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks during contracting process develop mitigation strategies raise awareness and minimize risk to schedule and budget facilitate seamless handoff to team.
- Identify and qualify construction partners and build healthy relationships that are based on common goals and shared success.
- Engage with clients to understand their requirements address concerns and provide regular updates on preconstruction progress.
- Stay informed of relevant regulations and codes ensuring all preconstruction activities align with legal and safety standards.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers partners and internal teams.
- Ability to research and analyze market strategies understand deal requirements assess risks and evaluate the financial viability of projects.
- Proficient in relevant software for cost estimation and project management.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit stand kneel stoop walk and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
