About The Role
As the Electrical Engineering Manager for the NSW Region you will be providing statutory supervision across various Thiess sites including Mt Pleasant and Mt Arthur South.
Additionally you will:
Develop supervise monitor and review the standards and procedures for the installation commissioning maintenance and repair of electrical plant and installations at the mine.
Develop and maintain the electrical BBRA and EECP for NSW Thiess mining operations and where possible provide consistency across operations.
Supervise the installation commissioning maintenance and repair of electrical plant and installations at the mines.
Conduct regular audits and inspections on Thiess NSW mining operations.
Review electrical designs being completed for the client on new and modified installations which will be operated under nominated Thiess statutory operating areas ensuring site standards are being maintained and provide feedback to the designers via the client.
Provide feedback and actions from the Resource Regulator interactions at other projects
Scope and provide guidance in the selection and installation of electrical components and systems.
Assist with project justifications in the areas of technology and electrical modifications for Thiess operations and the client.
Have direct involvement in the delivery of projects as required by Operations Managers across the Hunter Valley Operations.
Identify deficiencies in electrical installations and any provide recommendations for improvement to the client.
Oversee the installation maintenance and training of technology packages across operations.
About You
You will hold a Degree in Electrical Engineer or Advanced Diploma Electrical Engineering and recognized Electrical trades qualification and
Certificate of competence mine electrical engineer (underground/Open Cut) and
An Electrical engineer practising certificate (coal mines other than underground coal mines) that is in force or Electrical engineering manager practising certificate (underground coal mines) that is in force or
National Engineering Register Have evidence of compliance with Australian Engineering Competency Standards Stage 2 in respect of mining operations at a mine and be registered on the National Engineering Register as a professional electrical engineer an electrical engineering technologist or an electrical engineering associate.
You will have significant Open Cut experience supervising electrical personnel.
Knowledge of NSW Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulation 2022 Australian Standards and relevant NSW DII TRGs MDGs and codes of practice
Be a strong communicator and problem solver
