Treadwell Arena is seeking a Recreation Coordinator II to join our team performing lead duties at one of Juneaus most popular recreational venues!


Under general supervision of the Ice Rink Manager this position is responsible for independently developing implementing and marketing recreation programming at the Treadwell Ice Arena.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Treadwell Arena staff is a small group of dedicated individuals and we are looking for a team player to join our crew. Ideally we would like an individual who is interested in providing excellent customer service and assist with recreational programming at a favorite recreational facility.



WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position works a varied schedule (Monday through Sunday) 5:30ammidnight at Treadwell Arena in Douglas.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Performing lead duties such as training performance coaching drafting evaluations assigning tasks and scheduling the Recreation Activity Leader I and II positions
  • Develops organizes and facilitates the daily administration of recreation activities and programs including summer operations when required
  • Develops innovative programming at the direction of the Ice Rink Manager to meet overall financial and user group goals
  • Deals directly with the public regarding program issues complaints and requests. Elevates legal of financial program issues to the Ice Rink Manager if initial communication is unsuccessful
  • Assists in the operation and administration of the Treadwell Ice Arena
  • Operates the ice resurfacer and assists with the install and removal of ice
  • Assists with enrolling participants in programs and classes facility scheduling registration and event bookings
  • Position is in responsible charge of and manages the Treadwell Ice Arena in the absence of the Ice Rink Manager

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent

Experience:

Two 2 years of providing administrative support to recreational activities/programs.

Licensure:

CPR/First Aid Certificationwithin 30 days of employment


Valid Drivers License at time of appointment and for continued employment


Other:

Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment (to operate the Ice Resurfacer).

Note:Under Alaska Statute 12.62.160 9 Appointments to this position are offered conditionally pending the results of a criminal records report(NonFBI).
