Internal DOC Only Full Time Permanent
The Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking highly motivated and talented individual for the position of a Corrections Specialist 2 for the Resolutions Program at the Washington Corrections Center (WCC) in Shelton Washington.
The Washington Corrections Center is a Reception and Diagnostic Center. The facility is a closecustody facility with the primary responsibility to process test and classify all adult male felons sentenced to prison in Washington State. The facility has seven living units and houses 1700 incarcerated individuals. There are about 500 incarcerated individuals screened and assessed each month. WCC is also the major hub for transfer of incarcerated individuals to and from facilities throughout the state.
We are searching for an adaptable and dependable team member who has excellent written and verbal communication skills to assume the critical role of Corrections Specialist 2 and ensure WCC is operating in support of the mission vision and strategic plan of the agency.

The Corrections Specialist 2 is responsible for overseeing coordinating directing and implementing all aspects of the Statewide Resolution Program as mandated by DOC Resolution Policy 550.100 and the Statewide Program Manager. This includes directing the Resolution peer support mentors program throughout multiple levels of confinements within a facility. The following duties include but are not limited to:
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
AND
Three 3 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in a correctional setting correctional operations environment or office setting.
Desired Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelors Masters or doctoral degree in the areas of Social Sciences Criminal Justice Justice Administration or Public Administration or closely related field. The degree must be from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or a foreign equivalent.Supplemental Information
