About the role:
Hours available range from 5 hours a week upwards and could be daytime evenings and/or Saturdays. Classes are delivered at a range of venues across the borough.
Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is the local authoritys direct provider of adult education and workbased training. Officially rated as Good following our OFSTED inspection in December 2022 we are on a journey to Outstanding.
To ensure we are successful in the next stage of our journey we are seeking experienced and qualified ESOL subject specialists to become part of our team. We are looking for parttime lecturers who are passionate about their subject and can raise achievement through motivating challenging and inspiring our students. In return we can offer a flexible programme to meet your work/life balance needs with plenty of support and mentoring if required within a friendly and welcoming team.
You will need to have a minimum of two years teaching experience relevant subject specific and teaching qualifications with a proven track record in preparing learners for ESOL Skills for Life exams and developing emerging literacy digital and maths skills. We are particularly interested to see lecturers with experience of teaching ESOL Level 1 and Level 2.

Qualifications and Requirements:
To have achieved English and maths qualifications at level 2 or above or be committed to
achieving these qualifications within the first year of teaching for the service
To have or to be prepared to work towards achieving am introductory level 3 post 16 teaching
qualification within one year of start date
For ESOL lecturers there is a minimum professional requirement of CELTA or equivalent
For English and maths lecturers a requirement for a full teaching qualification with subject
specialism
Possess or be working towards internal quality assurer award or equivalent
