Job Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for the care and coordination of members assigned to their care team. In addition MAs are responsible for the completion of clinic tasks to ensure the accomplishment of daily patient care and safe clinic flow. The position will complete daily assignments monitor and track appointments follow up on noshows processes referrals and schedule followup and specialty appointments. This position will be responsible for providing excellent internal and external customer service. The Medical Assistant is responsible for making sure that all patient/client data is accurate and kept secure and will also ensure HIPAA compliance.
Skills/Requirements:
Highschool diploma or GED and either:
- o 18 credit hours of posthigh school education in a field related to behavioral health and two years of fulltime behavioral health work experience; or
- o four years of fulltime behavioral health work experience.
- Has an associates degree and at least two years of fulltime behavioral health work experience; or
- Has a bachelors degree in a field other than behavioral health and at least one year of fulltime behavioral health work experience; or
- Has a masters degree or bachelors degree in a field related to behavioral health.
- 12 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in the Health Care field where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral health and medical situations required.
- Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) in accordance with A.A.C. R910115 and CBI Clinical Policies and Procedures.
- Certified Medical Assistant certification (Current and in good standing within the State of Arizona) is preferred of this position.
- Valid identification required.
