Who are we looking for

We are looking for a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer ready to join our growing Canadian Operations within our Engineering Design Organization supporting Transportation projects.

The Bridge and Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with Provincial Regional and local municipal agencies as well as select contracting partners on largescale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways roads and bridges. Our team provides fullservice bridge engineering from project planning conceptual design lifecycle cost analysis load evaluation inspections fatigue preliminary design detailed design construction administration/inspection and asset management support.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Successful participation in and completion of multidisciplined bridge projects rail bridges and complex design
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff
• Collaboration in small and large teams. Leading the integration with other engineering disciplines engineers and design staff in the production of highquality project deliverables
• Production of conceptual design detailed design technical specifications cost and schedule estimating
• Working within various procurement models and roles.
• Preparation of reports and contract documents for review agencies clients and the public
• Maintaining contact with subconsultants municipalities utility companies and clients
• Exposure to project planning development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets

What you will bring to the team:

• A Professional Engineering (P. Eng) license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required.
• 15 years of experience in design and engineering of bridge projects.
• Experience and understanding of alternative delivery methodology.
• Metrolinx and AREMA experience
• CN Rail CP Rail and MTO experience are considered an asset
• Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) Ontario design standards (i.e. OPSS) and client specific standards and requirements (i.e. MTO)
• Experience in managing/mentoring or leading a group is considered an asset
• Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
