Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical Cost Estimator to join our team at IFAB Corp in Gastonia NC. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for our manufacturing projects playing a crucial role in our bidding and project planning processes.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints specifications proposals and other documentation to prepare time cost and labor estimates for manufacturing projects.
- Gather and analyze data on all factors that can influence costs such as raw materials labor equipment tooling subcontracts and overhead.
- Collaborate with engineering sales and production teams to understand project requirements and ensure accurate costing.
- Develop and maintain cost models and databases to support the estimating process.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and presentations for management review.
- Identify and quantify potential risks and opportunities within cost estimates.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Participate in value engineering discussions to identify costsaving opportunities.
- Continuously improve estimating methods and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain organized and uptodate records of all estimates and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience 5 years) as a Cost Estimator in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Solid mathematical and quantitative abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint).
- Experience with cost estimating software and ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Administration Finance or a related field.
