Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of an Accountancy Officer on a 1month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 13.84 18.11 per Hour
Summary:
We are looking for a detailoriented and motivated Accountancy Officer to join Liverpool City Councils Finance and Resources Directorate. This role plays a key part in supporting effective financial management across the council by assisting in the delivery of highquality financial information and budgetary support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate budgetary control information and advice to budget holders under the supervision of the Principal Finance Officer.
- Maintain financial systems including journal input budget virements account codes and suspense accounts.
- Verify and distribute payroll information for business unit managers.
- Assist with financial returns and grant claims ensuring audit compliance and deadline adherence.
- Deputise for other finance team members when required.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to undertake relevant training to enhance skills and service delivery.
- Good working knowledge of financial procedures.
Experience Required:
- Experience working within financial procedures and deadlines in a finance environment.
- Familiarity with financial software enquiry packages and corporate accounting systems.
