At Vattenfall one of Europes largest generators of electricity were on a mission to make fossilfree living possible within one generation. Within the Business Unit Solar & Batteries we develop construct and operate utilityscale solar photovoltaic and BESS (battery energy storage system) assets.
This role will be placed in our BESS Engineering circle which is the technical backbone to deliver high performing and costeffective BESS assets from assumptions to reality. We are a selforganized dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation in renewable energy storage.
What You Will Do:
As the Senior SCADA Engineer you will play a key role in defining optimizing and securing our SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system architecture. Youll provide technical solutions across the entire project portfolio ensuring scalability security and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilties:
- SCADA System Architecture & Implementation: Define and optimize SCADA systems & architecture for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in hybrid and standalone configurations ensuring system performance security and financial factors.
- Grid Compliance & Cybersecurity: Ensure SCADA solutions meet grid code requirements in Germany the Netherlands UK and Sweden while adhering to cybersecurity regulations for critical infrastructure.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholdersincluding suppliers grid operators and asset managersto translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Market & Technology Assessment: Evaluate and select SCADA solutions adapting them to individual projects and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Data Acquisition & Management: Develop and implement a strategy for seamless data collection integration and accessibility from multiple sources ensuring high data quality to support monitoring reporting and analytics.
- Project & Troubleshooting: Oversee system design commissioning and integration down to data points and connections. Support asset management teams in failure analysis and troubleshooting.
Qualifications :
What We Ask From You:
- A Masters degree (preferred) or a Bachelors degree with equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering Control & Automation Information Technology or similar
- A minimum of 57 years of professional experience in SCADA systems preferably in the renewables sector (BESS & Solar) and/or utility business
- Profound knowledge of monitoring & control architecture for renewable energy assets and cyber security concepts
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse international team.
- Fluency in English both written and verbal. German is a plus.
