Join a supportive community committed to growth where your work makes a you can expect as our ESL Teacher:As our ESL Teacher you will evaluate and implement in conjunction with educational programs staff effective programming to support English language development. This role will include direct instructional time with students and team consultation but some aspects may be done remotely. This position is part time and can range from 812 hours per week total. Experience working in a school where students needs come first and your contributions have a global love to talk with you if you can:Provide instructional services for students with multiple disabilities including visual impairment and dual sensory impairment based on individual needs Assess learner needs using formal and informal tools Plan implement and monitor appropriate educational goals aligned with the standards for English Language Development Provide expertise and consultation to IEP teams to ensure learner needs are metMaintain learner data to support team decision making Establish and maintain structures rules and procedures for learnersEstablish good rapport and maintain respectful relationships with learnersEngage learners by using a variety of approaches/materials and motivating strategies to convey knowledge and develop skills maximizing instructional/clinical time Develop performance measures and inform learners of the criteria for success; evaluate learner performance keep records and report progress in learning; revise instructional plans based on ongoing observation/evaluation informationCollaborate consult with and maintain effective communication with outside agency staff at all levels and family members and when indicated provide training Determine present levels of performance by reviewing background information and conducting informal and formal assessments To be successful you should have: Ability to plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each students Individual progressKnowledge of a variety of teaching techniques within the discipline including ELD curriculum development and consultationAbility to effectively communicate orally and in writingAbility to think clearly in stressful situations high stress tolerance and physical stamina required Meet educational requirements and qualifies for certification/licensure while updating and expanding knowledge Demonstrate understanding of the general curriculum expanded core curriculum and subject matter/area of expertise Ensure learners medical needs are met by altering teaching/clinical strategies and following protocolsThe ability to perform other related duties and tasks as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in education or relevant field and English as a Second Language teacher license for K5 or 612 with the ability to obtain the second level within 2 years of employment. Ability to complete and maintain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Crisis Prevention and Physical Intervention (CPPI) Certifications Ability to travel independently Preference may be given to candidates with: Masters degree in Special Education or Language Acquisition Previous experience working with students with visual impairments or students with severe disabilities.
