Job Description

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Altoona/DuBois Workforce Development Collaborative a combined effort of the two campuses is seeking an Education Program Specialist. The ideal candidate is an extremely organized taskoriented individual who can work with faculty members and staff at the two campuses as well as a statewide team located at other Penn State campuses to develop and deliver workforce education programs for many different industries. While working as part of a team program specialists oversee a portfolio of programs and clients annually. The program specialist is the hub of the wheel as they coordinate program development budgeting marketing registration instructors logistics contracts onsite management and evaluation for each program each with its unique objectives and needs. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of business and industry in the communities around the Altoona and DuBois regions.

Education and Experience:

The minimum requirement is a bachelors degree and one 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in sales event planning program management or project management. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously excellent communication skills budgeting experience problemsolving skills attention to detail teamwork and organization are critical to the program managers success. We value candidates who are forwardthinking openminded and flexible and who have the dedication to learn a variety of new programs procedures and systems. This position requires a flexible schedule during program delivery and will include occasional weekend and evening work.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other program managers and program coordinators in the office.

This is a hybrid position that combines remote and oncampus work; travel between the two campuses and service areas will be necessary. Questions related to hybrid work arrangement should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

This position requires successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. The position also requires the successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record Check.

$51000.00 $74000.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988 Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security such as those concerning alcohol and drug use crime prevention the reporting of crimes sexual and other matters.
