Job Description Summary
Assist the Department of History with general admin/office support including but not limited to front desk customer service event organizing and planning and peer advising. The successful candidate will work closely with the departments administrative assistant in maintaining department and office operations while providing exceptional support to History faculty students and guests.
Responsibilities
Provide front desk customer service to all that visit the Department of History. Assist in providing general administrative support to history faculty including but not limited to converting file types scanning documents event preparation and organizing/maintaining office supplies. Support history majors and minors by offering peer advising support throughout the academic year (only after mandatory training is completed). Maintain department records including course listings faculty office hours and expense tracking. Provide event support throughout the semester including but not limited to setup support photographing the event cleanup after the event and writing blog posts that summarize key highlights from the event for The Voice of Wilkinson .
Required Qualifications
Professional dependable organized able to multitask and ability to collaborate. Ability to take initiative on projects and various tasks throughout the department. Excellent project and time management skills to consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work well and quickly under pressure both individually and as a part of a team. Available during some evenings/weekends for events. A passion for the arts humanities and social sciences.
