Job Description
Listed below is a currentlyvacancy for a support staff positionin the Weatherford Public School district. All salaries for support positions are based on earned position on the salary schedule.
Job Title: Teacher Assistant
Job Site: Weatherford Early Childhood Center
Job Goal: To assist the teacher(s) in the development and teachingof each student in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist teacher or step into her role if necessary.
- Reinforcement of all academic areas.
- Reinforcement of discipline procedures.
- Reinforcement of any behavior modification program.
- Teach groups or individuals.
- Grade papers; keep attendance; record grades.
- Assist in lesson plans developing classroom materials and related projects.
- Maintain student and classroom files.
- Accompany students to elective or special classes when necessary.
- Assist on field trips.
- All activities related to classroom assistance.
- Assist in supervision of lunch and recess time.
- Assist and supervise children during rehearsals and performances of musicprograms etc.
Length of Contract: One hundred sixtynine 169 contract days.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
None required.
SKILLS: Ability to read write and assist student in basic educational skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed
to perform essential job functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with studentsstaff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of
Education policies.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by
an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable

essential functions.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to standwalk sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with handsand arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift
