The LPN practices under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in coordinating the care of patients and families utilizing the nursing process and the skills that are part of their functions as an LPN. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria
Education:
Graduate of accredited nursing program.
Experience:
Experience in skilled nursing long term care or acute rehabilitation.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three 3 months from date of hire.
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for workrelated reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Multicultural sensitivity.
Microsoft Office basic computer skills.
Customer/patient focused.
Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities. May drive a UPH vehicle rental or own vehicle.
