What You Will Do
We are seeking a professional engineer to assume a key role within the System Power Analog and Controls Department.
Do you enjoy power converter design
Do earlycareer engineers come to you for technical guidance
Do you have a strong desire to work on projects that are critical to the defense of our nation
Design analyze (including thermal considerations) simulate and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard nonisolated power conversion topologies (buck boost buckboost) including modules and discrete designs
Guide Electronic ComputerAided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in design analysis simulation and/or test experience with linear converters
Experience with any of the following nonisolated converter topologies: buck boost and/ or buckboost
Experience with design analysis and test with analog electronic design and analysis including FET BJT and/or Opamp circuits
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Basic understanding of commonly used power conversion concepts components and techniques and/or motor drive control schemes
Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics
Experience with use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layoutsuch as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and/or Hyperlynx SIMPLIS Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad & LTspice
Ability to document designs and circuit performance verification
Experience with performing circuit card assemblylevel power architecture trades and/or with systemlevel power architecture trades including power converter specification development experience
Design analysis and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback halfbridge fullbridge and/or pushpull including stability

Huntsville Location information: salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
