Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Director of Career Development the Assistant Director of Career & Internship Services in the College for Community Health provides strategic leadership oversight and coordination for the many aspects of the CCHL internship role works closely with students faculty/staff and external partners to ensure the development implementation and assessment of experiential learning opportunities for students. This Assistant Director drives strategic partnerships with academic departments employers and external stakeholders to create exceptional experiential learning opportunities that advance student career readiness and professional development.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement a comprehensive internship strategy that aligns with the Colleges academic mission and workforce development goals
Oversee data collection tracking and reporting on internship outcomes student placements and program impact
Develop assessment tools and metrics to evaluate career trend insights student learning outcomes employer engagement efforts and overall program effectiveness.
Monitor student progress and completion of internship requirements providing proactive intervention and support as needed
Collaborate with the Director to strengthen policies procedures and resources that support internship program excellence and accessibility
Provides guidance and direction to Career & Internship Advisors ensuring centerwide alignment of policies and processes for all internships.
Oversee the development and maintenance of affiliation agreements site contracts and resources ensuring compliance and alignment with academic requirements and University policies.
Work closely with the Employer Relations Specialist to conduct periodic site visits assess employer needs and ensure the quality of student internship experiences
Create innovative programming to maximize student success in securing and completing internships
Provide expert career coaching and internship search guidance to undergraduate and graduate students incorporating industry trends and best practices
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with employers community organizations and industry leaders to expand highquality internship opportunities
Lead the development of experiential learning initiatives projectbased experiences competencybuilding initiatives and hybrid/remote opportunities to expand student access.
Create and deliver orientation programs professional development sessions and capstone events that enhance the internship experience
Establish and maintain clear communication channels with academic departments employers and students regarding internship requirements deadlines and opportunities
Design and implement promotional strategies to increase awareness and utilization of career and internship services
Design and implement promotional strategies including social media campaigns and storytelling initiatives to highlight student success and internship opportunities
Serve as a liaison and point of contact with CCHL departments and programs to support program facilitation
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Minimum three 3 years of professional experience in career development with specific knowledge of the internship processes and procedures.
Strong knowledge of career exploration trends frameworks and technologies.
Demonstrated ability to plan coordinate and execute events presentations and programs.
Ability to thrive in a serviceoriented collaborative environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to serve students from diverse backgrounds and work in a community with values of diversity equity and social justice.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with multiple internal and external constituencies diverse populations and differing perspectives.
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
PREFERRED:
Experience with: Ellucian Banner Student and Handshake.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word and PowerPoint) and Google platforms (Docs Sheets Drive).
Actively engaged with careerrelated professional associations research and/or latest employment data.
