Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking applicants holding PhD DNP or EdD with expertise in curriculum instruction and instructional technology. This is a fulltime twelvemonth 1.0 FTE position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position may be a tenure track or nontenure track faculty position depending on background and qualifications. The Director of Curriculum & Instructional Design is an inaugural role at the UF College of Nursing responsible for leading the design development and assessment of the Colleges curriculum and instructional strategies across all academic programs.

This role provides vision and expertise in curriculum innovation instructional technology and faculty development to ensure the delivery of highquality evidencebased and learnercentered education. The Director will collaborate with faculty staff and leadership to align the curriculum with the Colleges mission accreditation standards and evolving healthcare industry needs.



Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Design and Development:

  • Lead the design development implementation and evaluation of curricula across undergraduate graduate and doctoral programs.
  • Ensure that the curriculum aligns with accreditation standards university policies and healthcare workforce trends.
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership to integrate evidencebased practice emerging healthcare technologies and interprofessional education into the curriculum.
  • Facilitate regular curriculum reviews and revisions to maintain academic rigor and relevance.

Instructional Design and Technology Integration:

  • Provide leadership in the application of instructional design principles to create engaging learnercentered educational experiences.
  • Oversee the integration of innovative instructional technologies and strategies including hybrid and online learning platforms.
  • Support faculty in designing course content and implementing teaching methodologies that enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and technologies ensuring continuous improvement.

Faculty Development and Support:

  • Develop and deliver faculty development programs focused on curriculum design instructional strategies and the use of educational technologies.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty in the development of highquality course materials assessments and teaching methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of teaching excellence and continuous professional development among faculty.

Program Assessment and Accreditation:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement processes for curriculum and instructional assessment.
  • Ensure that curriculum and instructional design practices meet accreditation requirements and standards.
  • Analyze and disseminate data related to student learning outcomes and curriculum effectiveness to inform decisionmaking.

Collaboration and Strategic Planning:

  • Work closely with the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Programs and other leaders to develop a strategic vision for curriculum and instructional innovation.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address gaps in curriculum and instructional design.
  • Contribute to the development of grant proposals and initiatives to secure funding for curriculum and instructional advancements.

Administrative Leadership:

  • Manage resources and budgets related to curriculum and instructional design initiatives.
  • Represent the College in universitywide committees and initiatives related to curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Stay abreast of trends and best practices in nursing education curriculum development and instructional technology.

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent in Nursing Education or related field with a focus on curriculum development program evaluation and instructional technology
  • Eligible for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor rank upon hire based on research teaching and service commensurate with rank.
  • Proven experience leading curriculum development and evaluation at the university level.
  • Experience in leading teams and collaborating with faculty staff and other stakeholders to implement and evaluate educational programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate academic programs and translate data into actionable insights to improve academic programs and outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership communication and mentorship abilities.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with competency based education.
  • Teaching experience in undergraduate and graduatelevel courses.
  • Knowledge of nursing education
  • Associate Professor: Eligible for tenure based on demonstrated distinguished record of teaching research and service.
