Senior Analyst Audit Operational Risk
- Permanent Fulltime opportunity
- Sydney based
- Hybrid working model
How will I help
As a Senior Analyst you will interact with key business stakeholders and other Group Audit teams. You will be part of a team to conduct independent reviews of risk frameworks risk practices systems policies and procedures and deep dives across the Westpac Group and identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement.
Some of the key accountabilities are:
- Supporting the delivery of audit planning including the identification of processes risks and controls for testing
- Supporting the daytoday audit activities for the opertioanl risk risk culture and insights team including risk insights continuous monitoring and other group audit improvement initiatives.
- Testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls and risk practices.
- Identifying and documenting audit issues including performing a significance analysis and agreeing management action plans
- Collaborating across Group audit teams

What do I need
- Substantial experience in financial services industry in Audit or similar risk discipline
- Experience with Data Analytics utilising PowerBI visualisations and dashboards to summarise key insights in relation to potential risks and opportunities across business processes (preferable)
- Professional qualifications (or working towards) such as Chartered Accountant (CA) Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) are highly regarded
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and risk practices. Compliance background will also be considered.
- Intermediate analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
- A proactive solutionfocused attitude and the ability to think critically to solve problems and recommend actions
