ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

Founded in 1965 the ChineseAmerican Planning Council Inc. (CPC) aims to promote the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American immigrant and lowincome communities. Today CPC is the nations largest Asian American social services agency and offers more than 50 programs at over 35 sites throughout New York City including early childhood education schoolage care youth services workforce development community services and senior services. CPC strives to be the premier social service and leadership development organization. In 2017 CPC launched Advancing Our CommUNITY its organizationwide strategy to expand services to address persistent needs and emerging trends and to improve leadership skills among staff and community members. In 2022 our core programs and emergency services reached 200000 people living in all five boroughs and all 51 city council districts. In the summer of 2022 CPC was recognized as the number one Chinese American organization in New York City to recommend to a Chinese immigrant looking for inlanguage and culturally competent resources according to a recent survey. The mission of each CPC Early Childhood Center is to foster a lifelong love of learning in each of our students. Our staff fosters positive learning experiences through love respect quality education and professionalism. CPC Early Childhood Centers serves approximately 300 students from ages 15 in multiple locations throughout the city. The goal of the program is to support students in all learning areas including intellectual academic physical social and emotional growth.

CPC operates a total of six 6 Early Childhood Centers in New York City:

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Garment Industry Early Childhood Center the parttime Custodial employee is responsible for maintaining the center premises and its equipment in clean safe and comfortable condition. The Custodians schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00am 4:00pm

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Previous related experience in general custodial duties such as cleaning repairing and painting

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to read and write to follow written work schedules
  • Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand as needed
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain cooperative relationships with other staff children parents and visitors to the center
  • Ability to be professional and maintain professionalism

Additional Requirements:

  • Must meet all applicable federal state and/or city requirements to work with children in an early childhood setting including but not limited to fingerprint and background check clearance and successful completion of trainings and certifications
  • Must be willing to undergo annual physical examinations and submit required medical documentation

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW

  • $16.50 $18.00 per hour; 35 hours per week from Monday through Friday 8:00pm 4:00pm
