Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated engineer to architect design and develop technologies that deliver state of the art motion capabilities across multiple robotic platforms.
As an Engineer on the Motion Planning team you will be part of a passionate and diverse team of engineers who design scalable robust and highly performant motion planning systems across a worldwide fleet of robots. You will have opportunities to partner and work with applied scientists data scientists hardware engineers and crossfunctional teams to deliver the next generation of robotic motion to the Amazon portfolio.
Key job responsibilities
Architect design and implement motion planning systems for robotic platforms
Influence the teams strategy and contribute to longterm vision and roadmap.
Work with stakeholders across science and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation.
Maintain high standards by participating in reviews designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
Prototype and test concepts or features both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment
Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback
Lead by mentoring other engineer team members

Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
