On-Call Accompanist

Position purpose: This position supports the classroom rehearsal and performance activities of our students and faculty. The position coincides with the universitys Spring quarter from Late March until late May averaging 36 hours weekly including possible late afternoon/early evening rehearsals. The last week of Spring quarter and Finals week hours are to be mutually agreed upon but no more than 10 hours each week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provide classroom and rehearsal accompaniment.
Accompany students at weekly lessons and Finals rehearsals.
Provide accompaniment for other departmentsponsored activities as assigned.

1. Recommends initiatives and implements approved changes to improve quality and services.
2. Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.
3. Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives

Advanced piano and music skills.
Excellent sightreading and musical coaching skills.

Abilities: Ability to accompany and perform from open score.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree or commensurate professional experience required.
One to three years accompanying or professional performing experience required.
