Valid California Drivers License
Valid California Class B Drivers License preferred.
Certification as Nurses Assistant (optional)
One 1 year fulltime experience performing non professional consumer directed services in a mental health health care or social services agency
Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously and persistently mentally ill clients other staff and the public.
The Recovery Counselor is a paraprofessional treatment team member who is responsible for providing direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the clients through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction. Duties are performed under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator but some tasks are accomplished independently. Job duties include promoting and assisting clients with selfhelp skills in the areas of eating hygiene and grooming and other activity or nursing activities. Encouraging client interactions and socialization with other peers providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model. Transporting clients in facility vehicles as directed. Conducting and assisting both large and small activity groups and outings independently but under the supervision of the Program Manager or his/her designee.
The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a shortterm voluntary residential facility.
Designed to help adult residents ages 1859 who experience a psychiatric crisis to safely stabilize recover and transition back to community.
Services include:
24/7 Program
Therapeutic and mental health services
Rehabilitation/recovery services including substance use rehabilitation services
Prevocational or vocational counseling
Medication evaluation and support services
Daily exercise and health/wellness education
Crisis intervention

Grade spread 17.46 24.44(In accordance with California law the salary grade for this position is listed above. Starting pay within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
