Job Description
Overview
For over 25 years G&A Partners has been helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses take better care of their employees and enjoy a higher quality of life by providing proven HR solutions and technology. G&A Partners client is currently seeking aController to join its team in Houston TX.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing fiscal control programs and accounting systems that meet the needs of projects and the firms business operation
- Executes the completion of general ledger accounts financial statements monthend & year closing
- Fixed Assets Stock Activity and Project Accounting
- Coordinates and assists in development of annual budget and monthly forecasts
- Responsible for payroll for employees
- Filing of payroll sales and property taxes
- Work with outside CPA with corporate income and Gross Margin taxes.
- Responsible for overall cash flow management of the corporation
- Manages coaches and develops a team of employees in Accounts Payable and Project Accounting.
- Will partner with the Human Resources PEO team for payroll and employee related accounting matters
- General Liability Workers Comp and Professional Liability Insurance
- Produce reports for monthend processing to ensure an accurate accounting of all invoices outstanding at monthend and balance reports with the corresponding general ledger accounts
- Calculate monthly depreciation on fixed assets
- Variance analysis
- Oversee HR Recruiting and Benefits for the organization
- Facilitate any ERP system updates needed through 3rd party
- Responsible for Policy and procedure Management
- Oversee the contract management function (i.e. clients as well as vendor)
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 810 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP
- 23 years of management and supervisory experience required
- Microsoft Office and data entry experience is necessary as well as accounting and payroll software experience. Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations systems a plus
- Experience working in a small company environment
- General knowledge of financial concepts preferred
