We are hiring at the UofL Health Brown Cancer Center Medical Center Northeast

2401 Terra Crossing Blvd. Louisville KY 40245

Shift: 1st Shift 5 days 8hrs)

UofL Health Brown Cancer Center is an academic cancer center affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. The cancer centers goal is to make cancer a disease of the past through cuttingedge care innovative clinical trials and cancer prevention efforts. Brown Cancer Center is home to Kentuckys first and longestaccredited program by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. We are a nationally recognized center for developing experimental cancer therapeutics and diagnostics and have the most significant cancer trials program in the region. We are a global leader in the clinical trial testing of new immunotherapies that activate your bodys immune system to fight cancer and have become early adopters of these immunotherapies that reduce the cancer death rate in the U.S. The Center for Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy has been established through experts at the Brown Cancer Center to understand further the role of cancer and the immune system to identify new therapeutic targets and develop innovative treatment strategies.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Medical assisting duties include patient triage vital signs patient history EKG injections and using the electronic health record.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization (CMA CCMA or RMA); if certified not upon hire then certification must be obtained in the first 90 days of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) vital signs venipuncture capillary and injection experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Assisting Degree
  • Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
  • Experience coordinating with other doctors offices attorneys and patients
