Job Description
Do you enjoy working outdoors serving citizens and are seeking seasonal employment ThePortage County Parks DepartmenthasSeasonal Assistant Park ManagerandPark Manageropportunities available!Positions typically begin in May and may work until later in the fall. Some positions end earlier to accommodate school schedules.
Seasonal Assistant Park Manager $17.50/ hour
Seasonal Park Manager $18.90/ hour
Below are the main job responsibilities:
- Performs park clean up and custodial duties at various parks and other areas as assigned.
- Picks up litter and garbage by hand. Cleans park buildings including toilets showersopen and enclosed shelters nature center and storage areas.
- Mows and trims grass by hand and machine. May assist with seasonal mowing and maintenance projects at any park.
- Collects fees enforces park rules and regulations and provides park users with informationand aid.
- Collects fees for camping lodge rentals firewood dump stations.
- Enforces the park ordinance and other park rules and regulations and provides informationand emergency first aid to park users.
- Performs maintenance and repair projects under the supervision of the park manager.
ThePark Managerprovides general supervision to Assistant Managers.
These are the skills we are seeking:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior park experience preferred.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Must be 18 years old.
Seasonal employment does not provide a benefit package.
