What you will be responsible for:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for all employees ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing a strong understanding of wage laws and excellent organizational skills.
What Youll Do:
- Process weekly and semimonthly payroll for all employees including salaried and hourly workers.
- Ensure accuracy in timesheets deductions and payroll calculations.
- Maintain compliance with federal state and local payroll laws.
- Handle payroll taxes garnishments benefits deductions workers compensation and other payrollrelated reports and adjustments.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits as necessary.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and best practices.
- Set up and maintain employee personnel files.
- Assist with registration in new states as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of payroll processing experience preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in using various payroll platforms. NetSuite preferred.
- Strong knowledge of California and multistate payroll laws wage and hour regulations and tax requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills.
