JOB SUMMARY: Outline the job description and specific responsibilities of the Administrative Nursing Supervisor. The Administrative Supervisor position has responsibility for providing administrative expertise and leadership in the identification and resolution of patient and unit related problems using all relevant resources to affect resolutions. During evening night weekend and holiday hours the Administrative Supervisor has the delegated responsibility to represent Administration on site and will communicate directly with the Administrator on call as needed for definitive resolution procedures. This position is responsible for the coordination of nursing units staffing in collaboration with the individual unit directors. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and compliance assurances pertaining to safety wage/hour employment discrimination accreditation licensure certification reimbursement or other necessary regulatory approvals. The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for both nursing staff employees and contracted nursing staff performance in accordance with the scope of practice and delivery of safe patient care through the nursing process of assessment nursing diagnosis planning implementation and evaluation based on established clinical nursing practice standards. This position is also responsible for assisting in the selection development and on going evaluation of the staffing office personnel in their work setting. The Administrative Supervisor supports the GMC organizational vision and mission. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC. The employee shall support GMC strategic plan goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including but limited to; Customer Service Patients Rights Confidentiality of information (HIPAA) environment of care and AHMC initiatives. Utilizes knowledge of age spiritual cultural and population specific care concepts to contribute to the provision of quality of care that lead to positive outcomes in patient care.
