Job Description Summary
The OEA seeks a oneyear hourly 15 hours per week) graduate student Study Abroad Consultant GAH beginning in the Fall 2023 through Spring 2024. The successful candidates must have strong writing communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working with undergraduatestudents. While all graduate students are invited to apply OEA is particularly interested in incoming graduate students who have had study abroad experience and can speak to their own personal study abroad journey in their advising. This position does not come with a tuition waiver. There is an opportunity for this position to be renewed for the following academic year. The Study Abroad Consultant will have numerous opportunities to develop their professional skills through advising students public speaking social media management and event planning. The graduate student Study Abroad Consultant will work in the following areas: Student Advising a. Deliver the First Step Information Session b. Use the OEA Framework and Advising MAPs to discuss study abroad programming options with potential study abroad students during individual appointments. c. Help assigned students move through the study abroad approval and application process once they have selected a program. Student Programming a. Assist with predeparture orientation programming. b. Support returnedstudent activities Social Media a. Support OEA Social Media effort
