Position requires good health and physical condition. Working conditions involve outdoor work often in inclement weather. Daily travel is often required some under poor road conditions or on back roads. Work schedule is variable may involve overnight stays in remote field locations on rare occasion. The knowledge skills and abilities of this position are normally attained through experience in the construction trades with an emphasis on natural and recreational resources.
Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park is a 3000acre public recreation and nature preservation area in Montana USA. It features one of the largest known limestone cavern systems in the northwest. The caverns were discovered in 1892 by local hunters and became Montanas first state park. Maintenance duties for this position will include work inside the caverns on a daily basis. Being comfortable in this environment is essential to the position. Other duties will consist of maintaining the grounds and facilities of the park as well as working at Fishing Access Sites located in the area.
Job Duties:
Maintaining and repairing infrastructure including areas located in the cave. This include keeping the cave clean and safe for visitors. Maintaining repairing and constructing buildings facilities roads trails pedestrian bridges and signage that provide safe and enjoyable recreational opportunities to the public. Maintains equipment fleets in a proactive sustainable manner. Maintaining cleaning and restocking facilities & latrines. Mowing whacking grounds maintenance operating small power tools and other hand tools. Assists in Regional control efforts as needed. Regional and sitespecific tasks may exist and other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience:
The knowledge skills and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalency and 1 year of jobrelated experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a casebycase basis.
Full Time
