As a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining control systems for gas turbines and their associated equipment. Reporting to the Controls Manager youll play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective repair calibration and overhaul of control solutions and field service activities. Your daytoday will involve both handson technical work and collaboration with various teams across the business.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design and build PLCbased control systems
  • Create Functional Design Specification (FDS) documents
  • Perform Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments
  • Develop full working applications based on functional design specs
  • Provide technical support to Field Service and Project Teams
  • Lead technical visits to customer sites to support contracted work
  • Conduct site surveys and offer troubleshooting assistance
  • Assist the sales and project teams in preparing technical quotations
  • Prepare detailed control systems documentation
  • Work on a variety of projects both onsite and offshore

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • A recognised qualification in Control Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering is preferred; however candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley RSLogix PLC programming (Ladder Function Block Sequential Flow Diagrams)
  • Knowledge of vibration monitoring fuel control and governing systems
  • Familiarity with CitectScada RSView Wonderware and FactoryTalk HMI software
  • Experience designing control systems for gas turbines and integrating them with existing plant equipment
  • Ability to produce layout diagrams using CAD (desirable)
  • Flexible approach to working additional hours and away from home when required
