Position Summary

The Senior Director US Marketing Brand Lead is responsible for leading the development of US strategic and tactical marketing and launch plans for an endocrinology rare disease product to help ensure that Ascendis optimizes value for the patients and providers we serve.

We are looking for a brand lead who demonstrates marketing excellence in brand strategy understanding of the marketplace and an ability to integrate deep patient and caregiver insights into impactful initiatives. This role will lead the US planning for the a new rare disease product launch and will work closely with crossfunctional partners. She/he will also need to demonstrate strong leadership collaboration and the ability to set a vision and lead through change.

The Senior Director reports to the US Head of Marketing. The expectation is inoffice three days a week at Ascendiss Princeton NJ location to collaborate with team members and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement initiatives that maintain a detailed understanding of key patient and provider needs in rare disease with a longrange approach to brand planning
  • Effectively partner with all key stakeholders in the US and globally to ensure successful design and of brand plans and disease education.
  • Lead strategic development and implementation of promotional materials and programs both branded and unbranded.
  • Cultivate and appropriately leverage strong external relationships such as thought leaders key customers and patient advocacy organizations
  • Closely monitor competitive activities and develop and implement strategies to proactively overcome competitive threats
  • Establish key commercial objectives and utilize KPIs to drive decisionmaking and measure success of marketing initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Medical Regulatory and Legal to coordinate commercial strategy
  • Manage P&L and work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment around business planning processes and timelines
  • Effectively lead in an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate company and regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics programs and tools that achieve business objectives
  • Successful people management experience leading teams
  • Set a positive example for others including demonstrating the Ascendis Pharma values


Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Rare disease experience strongly preferred
  • 10 years pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology marketing experience with demonstrated experience leading teams
  • Proven experience in a marketing leadership role with a track record of accountability to financial results in undeveloped and/or competitive rare disease markets
  • Strong strategic planning skills with demonstrated experience generating deep customer insights in rare disease.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically create and implement a multidimensional brand plan including branded and unbranded tools
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work with high levels of ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with experience presenting to Executive Leadership KOLs and fieldbased teams
  • Knowledge of current legal regulatory and compliance climate
  • Ability to travel up to 25 both domestically and internationally
