Job Description
The Role
We have an opportunity for a Special Counsel to join a growing national insurance company that has an incorporated legal practice. The successful candidate will enjoy working alongside an experienced large team of lawyers nationally many extop tier and enjoy working in a supportive and flexible environment.
This role will suit an insurance litigation/dispute resolution lawyer who has experience in professional indemnity. Perhaps you are seeking a position with a more downtoearth inhouse feel with no billable hours and no BD.
The role reports directly to the Director / Partner and will be advising on a mix of professional indemnity public liability claims and policy advisory work.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to a wide range of industries including but not limited to the infrastructure construction real estate and property sector through to IT professionals architects and professional services
- Be responsible for and have carriage of your own files with support and appropriate supervision from the national team and Directors
- Undertake a mix of public liability claims work and policy advisory with a strong focus on professional indemnity
The Successful Candidate
- Valuesled legal legal professional with a minimum of 7 years post qualification experience
- Background in defendant insurance litigation with professional indemnity experience
- Commercial approach and ability to work relatively autonomously and run your matters (with support where needed).
- Strong client relationship skills and understands the importance of providing technically excellent advice
- Self motivated and talented lawyer who enjoys working on matters from end to end
- Team player who appreciates the importance of collegiality and mentoring of more junior lawyers
