Position and Salary
If you are a current AGO legal support professional looking for a career growth and development opportunity within a supportive collaborative environment where you can continue contributing meaningfully to Washington States legal matters we invite you to consider our12month intraining program from Legal Assistant 2 to Paralegal 1.
This fulltime permanent position includes a twotier intraining program. The selected candidate will start at the Legal Assistant 2 classification promote to Legal Assistant 3 and promote again to Paralegal 1 upon successful completion of the intraining program curriculum. The position is based in our Seattle office with our Social and Health Services Division.

With the exception of a few most of the positions within the above noted classifications are represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidates jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
Promotional salaries at each stage will be based on Article 42.10 of the WFSE CBA for represented employees and the AGO Salary Determination Policy for nonrepresented employees.

Base Pay Ranges
Paralegal 1:Range 51: $54204 $72924 (annual).
Legal Assistant 3:Range 44: $45732 $61404 (annual).
Legal Assistant 2:Range 41: $42696 $56880 (annual).
Additional Premium Pay Based on Position Requirements
The following types of premium pay will be applied when relevant:

InTraining Program Details
The AGO Professional Staff InTraining program is a formal onthejob training program. The program enables the AGO to use defined training steps to train employees to work toward successfully performing the duties and responsibilities of the goal class.
In this job posting we are consideringinternalAGO LA1 staff who hold permanent status as an LA1 onlyandare interested in learning onthejob with the goal of moving into the Paralegal 1 role. Youll gain the competencies and skills needed to successfully perform your duties while being supported by your supervisor manager and coworkers. Upon successful completion of your training and demonstrating knowledge of the position requirements you will be promoted into the Paralegal 1 level.

Our Paralegal 1 staff provide critical support to Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) in the litigation of state matters preparing for trial and applying knowledge of court rules related to legal practice subject matter and court filing procedures in civil and appellate matters.
