RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RIMUHC) is a worldrenowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RIMUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Qubec Sant (FRQS).
Position summary
Department / Research Program: MeDiC
The project seeks to develop a new treatment approach for glioblastoma. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for the synthesis of multifunctional molecules and analyzing their ability to cross the bloodbrain barrier using several techniques including mass spectrometry imaging. The incumbent must have a PhD in medicinal chemistry or equivalent with experience in mass spectrometry bioanalysis.
General Duties
The skills particularly required are:
Ability to perform practical organic synthesis
Ability to perform and analyze NMR experiments
Ability to perform LCMS analysis and mass spectroscopy imaging
Knowledge of spatial omics and proteomics is an asset.
Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: Organic Chemistry pharmaceutical sciences

Excellent French and English spoken and written
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision
Exemplary writing skills with demonstrable experience in writing for academic and community audiences (e.g. publications reports grey literature infographics pamphlets etc.
Autonomy (with minimum supervision after appropriate training) drive initiative creativity curiosity
Team player.
Status: Temporary full time 35hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $54327.00 $100882.60.
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Work Site: GLEN Site 1001 boul. Decarie
