Whatyou would be doing:
The nurse educator works closely with each department toidentifyeducation needs of staff and plans conductscoordinatesand evaluatesoureducation wouldberesponsibleforthe facility orientation program and monitoring/supporting new employees through theirprobationaryperiod andto assure education hours and competency reviews are conducted annually.
Whatyourwork schedulewould be:
This position typically works a day shift schedule but may vary on occasion to address training and education needs of the facility.
Thesuccessfulcandidate:
Has a minimum of two years ofclinical experience working in alongtermfacility with direct accountability forstaff education.
Preferably has a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).
Preferablyis certified toprovideCPRinstruction andcertification.
Has excellent technical assessment and documentation skills.
Has in depth knowledge of standards of practice and regulations for long term care..
Has the ability to read analyze and interpret professional journals technicalproceduresor governmental regulations.
Is abletocommunicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to residentstaffand others.
