Job Description

Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Reclamation Site Foreman to support Nakupuna Companies on executing stream reclamation land restoration abandoned mine land (AML) closures and other small heavy civil constructions projects. Working experience in operating heavy equipment for earthwork stream restoration flood recovery fire recovery and AML closure projects. Must have a strong ability to interact professionally with colleagues subcontractors clients and project stakeholders in the everchanging environment of a field construction project while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Reclamation Site Foreman will review and execute project drawings and specifications; manage and direct junior field staff; coordinate subcontractors and suppliers; communicate frequently with the Nakupuna Companies Site Superintendent(s) and/or Project Manager(s) clients and stakeholders when on site; and remain flexible and resourceful to resolve field issues that may occur.

Responsibilities

Job Duties Include:The following reflects managements definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Support the planning scheduling and executing of field construction projects and tasks having experience leading and working directly alongside field crews on all field tasks and providing insight toefficiently completing work and using safe work practices for addressing small heavy civil projects.
  • Professionally interacting with clients in the field approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; and follows through on commitments.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Willing to travel and work away from home for a week or more at a time capable of standing for long periods of time must be able to lift or move 50 pounds regularly in various terrain and can easily access sites in remote areas on foot. Exhibits strong mechanical skills has a good driving record and pays attention to detail and ability to organize and effectively manage multiple field tasks to efficiently achieve project contract requirements.
  • Must work well in a team setting communicates well both verbally and in written form and takes initiative to solve problems.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Western U.S. and with federal state and local agencies as well as nongovernmental groups.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets electronic timesheet and expense report submittals computer applications is a plus.
  • Strong teammate communicator and problem solver.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record as evidenced by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • 40Hour OSHA HAZWOPER desired

Education/Experience:

  • Must possessa High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Has strong work experience in the areas noted above holds a trade school certification in construction management or heavy equipment operation or has earned an associates or bachelors degree in construction management sciences engineering technician or related field.
  • Has minimum of two years experience operating heavy equipment (excavator loader bulldozer) on earthwork projects involving one or more of the following project types: watershed restoration AML closures fire mitigation or restoration water storage/conveyance improvements site revegetation stream hydraulic and habitat restoration stormwater infrastructure improvements remote roadway construction or similar work. Familiarity with soft and hard surface trail construction and welding experience is a plus.

Work Location:Onsite reports to Wheat Ridge CO office.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel 5075 of time along the Rocky Mountain region.

Physical Requirements:The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the jobwith or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands wrists and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.

The Nakupuna Companies use a marketbased compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors including but not limited to the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contractspecific affordability organizational requirements and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $30.37 to $35.00 (hourly USD). The hourly range displayed represents the typical hourly range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
