The Opportunity

The School of Biological Sciences requires your expertise in supporting leadership and implementing strong operational management. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in planning and managing a teaching program. The role involves overseeing a range of strategic and operational activities including laboratory equipment and space management. You will provide leadership to the Teaching Technical Team in delivering highquality professional services.

As the Education Programs Manager you will offer expert advice at both strategic and operational levels on teaching services particularly within the biology discipline. Additionally you will play a key role in redeveloping units to incorporate new and innovative teaching practices as well as delivering the administration for practical classes to students. This position ensures alignment with the Schools strategic goals and educational objectives.

As the successful candidate you will have proven experience in the following:

  • Excellent operational management and customer service skills with proven ability to provide authoritative technical and policy advice
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills with experience establishing priorities allocating resources and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated management experience in a matrix or large and complex management structure
  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory and/or fieldwork based education
  • Staff management experience with the ability to motivate and develop a highperformance team committed to excellent customer service
  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills including demonstrated ability to deliver positive solutions to complex problems
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate influence and build consensus at senior levels
  • Demonstrated experience planning budgeting and coordinating University field trips
  • Highly developed ability to develop initiatives to improve educational outcomes and ability to manage a learning management system
