Position Summary

The Transformation Coach provides immediateneedsbased case management services to youth who are vulnerable to or have experienced commercial sexual exploitation. Under the supervision of the Integrated Services Manager the Transformation Coach is responsible for engaging participants aged 1224 in shortterm immediate needs assessment and implementing and maintaining MISSSEYs transformation coach services including resource brokerage engaging with families collaborating across systems and advocacy. The goal is to assist in stabilization systems navigation and referrals to longerterm care using strong skills in motivational interviewing. This role operates within the organizations resources and in compliance with grants contracts and agency policies.

The ideal candidate for this position would:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience providing case management services.
  • Have experience working with Black girls and other youth of color who have experienced homelessness genderbased violence trafficking and abuse.
  • Believe youth are inherently valuable capable of making the best choices for themselves and deserving of dignity and a high standard of care.
  • Be highly skilled in positive youth development harm reduction restorative justice the Transtheoretical model cultural humility and healingcentered theory and practices.
  • Understands how to address the biopsychosocial emotional educational vocational and functional needs of young people impacted by complex trauma.
  • Be skilled at deescalation interpersonal relationship building crisis intervention and socialemotional skill development.
  • Have the ability to cocreate a strong reflective highly productive and caring culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Services 70

  • Develop immediateneedsfocused life maps (case plans) with participants to secure longerterm support.
  • Meet individually with up to 57 participants to:
    • Assess needs for shelter food clothing physical and mental health.
    • Identify and advocate for appropriate resources.
    • Increase life skills and selfefficacy.
    • Provide advocacy for youth in court and other settings.
    • Support participants enrollment and success in school.
    • Ensure housing stability through the foster care system or other placements.
    • Support access to longerterm care supports and safety networks.
    • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
    • Assist in the development of healthy identity life skills coping mechanisms and body positivity.
    • Support clients in goal completion and healingcentered practices.
    • Provide peer counseling emotional support and advocacy.
    • Address issues such as homelessness substance abuse physical disabilities and mental illness.
    • Lead collaborative service planning and support stages of change.
    • Work collaboratively with child welfare workers probation officers housing providers families and other stakeholders.
    • Maintain transparency and informed decisionmaking for participants.
    • Provide psychoeducation about trauma and exploitation to youth and their families.
    • Conduct services onsite and offsite including at MISSSEYs STaR Center.
    • Facilitate healing circles and peer support sessions.

Indirect and Administrative 25

  • Ensure case management aligns with contracts grants and agency policies.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate participant files with relevant documentation.
  • Input case notes within 72 hours of client contact and track progress.
  • Accurately record and track attendance participation and incentives.
  • Participate in supervision work plans and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with the MISSSEY team to support organizationwide initiatives.

Other 5

  • Participate in supervision case conferences staff meetings and training.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts to improve MISSSEYs services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in strengthbased clientcentered restorative and traumainformed care.
  • Bachelors degree in psychology social work public health or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with African American cisgender LGBTQQ and nonbinary women and girls.
  • Ability to assess and intervene effectively with behavioral health issues.
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques crisis intervention and group facilitation.
  • Passion for youth support healingcentered development and social change.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Dependable present and engaged in the work.
  • Ability to multitask and manage high case volumes.
  • Knowledge of CSEC (commercial sexual exploitation of children) and its impacts.
  • Understanding of complex trauma intersectionality and systems involvement.
  • Strong boundaries and ability to respond to crises with deescalation techniques.
  • Ability to serve as a role model and develop positive relationships with youth.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular computer use including data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to stand for at least 20 minutes at a time.
  • Outdoor activities and offsite meetings required.
  • Shared office space; some offices may lack elevator access.
  • Driving required for transporting clients and attending meetings.

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid drivers license reliable vehicle and proof of liability insurance.
  • Clean driving record for transporting clients.
  • Criminal background check fingerprint clearance.
  • TB clearance and COVID19 vaccination required.
