Job Description
We are seeking a talented Associate with experience in 1940 Actregistered funds and business development company work to join our Investment Management Group in Chicago. This position offers the opportunity to work on cuttingedge legal matters in the investment management arena and contribute to key developments in the structuring offering and regulation of registered investment companies and business development companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on the structuring operation financing and regulation of registered investment companies including closedend funds mutual funds ETFs and business development companies.
- Provide corporate and regulatory advice to boards of directors of investment companies.
- Collaborate with M&A colleagues on 1940 Act matters in asset manager M&A transactions.
- Assist in the development of innovative strategies including rights offerings leveraging strategies and emerging investment company structures.
Qualifications:
- Experience in 1940 Actregistered funds and business development companies.
- A strong academic background and experience in the investment management group of a peer firm are preferred.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
