The salary scale for Professional Support 3 is based on steps that range from $68917.73 $91624.25. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $80254.49 annually.
Reporting to the Manager of Student Services at the campus level and functionally to the Manager of Libraries & Learning Commons you will:
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent from an ALA accredited program.
You have a minimum of one year (fulltime equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience. Academic library experience is considered an asset.
You have strong demonstrated computer literacy skills including experience with Microsoft 365.
You have demonstrated a broad understanding and application of the variety of information resources and information literacy concepts and techniques applicable to postsecondary students and faculty.
You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
You possess strong demonstrated experience with library applications including library services platforms and discovery services; online databases; internet resources; LibApps (e.g. LibGuides).
Experience in training/facilitation preparation delivery and evaluation in person and online.
You have a demonstrated understanding of collection development and evaluation.
Experience with Novanet and the Alma library services platform is considered an asset.
Experience with alternate format texts (AFTs) texttospeech software accessibility features in desktop and web applications and equipment is considered an asset.
Project management experience is considered an asset.
Experience with copyright open educational resources and research data management is considered an asset.
You have experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students.

As a condition of employment Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a parttime adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary full or parttime Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term fulltime Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
