This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Sony Pictures Releasing is the studios theatrical distribution group and is responsible for the release of feature films from Columbia Pictures TriStar Pictures Screen Gems Sony Pictures Animation Sony Pictures International Productions and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions to cinemas around the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate should have a strong interest in learning about the theatrical distribution business and demonstrate strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. The intern will work with the extended home office team in the area of sales and planning strategy as well as provide analytical deliverables to the global distribution team. Responsibilities for the role include evaluating datasets from the divisions various systems to develop market insights contextualizing box office performance and impact of release dates in the competitive landscape and presenting a capstone project to senior management. At the end of this rotation the intern will have detailed knowledge of the film distribution business.
