Sound like a familia youre ready to join Heres the details on what we are looking for in this position:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the substation engineering team including physical and protection & control (P&C) engineers designers and drafters.
- Oversee the design and delivery of substation projects ensuring adherence to project timelines quality standards and client specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers particularly in areas such as QA/QC system protection and power system analysis.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to track project progress resolve issues and ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Assist with resource planning and allocate team members to meet project deadlines.
- Review and approve design packages including oneline diagrams relay and metering designs and physical arrangements for substations ranging from 4.16kV to 500kV.
- Support the department supervisors in identifying training needs and implementing development programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Substation Engineering and Business Development teams to identify and pursue new opportunities for department growth.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in substation design or a related field with a focus on both physical and P&C engineering.
- Proficiency in substation design including breaker upgrades bus protection and transformer replacement.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (NERC NEC IEEE NEMA).
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
Licenses/Certification Required:
- P.E. License
