Job Description
The Department of Psychology is seeking a parttime instructor to teach PSY 374 Social Psychology during the Spring 2025 semester. Course description: Introduction to scientific study of the social behavior of individuals; experimental approach. Social influence conformity social perception attitude changes small groups and collective behavior. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their percreditratehistory within the hiring department.
Responsibilities
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparing lectures projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class. Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to cover the class. Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes. Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Completing all other courserelated duties as outlined by your departments policies for parttime instructors.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or working towards a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field.
